Puggle?

WHAT IS A PUGGLE?
A puggle is a new hybrid dog breed produced by mating a small female beagle with a select male pug. Our pugs and beagles are either AKC or CKC registered, well socialized and up to date on vaccinations.

WHY CHOOSE A PUGGLE ?
Puggles are very sweet tempered; but of course, they would be because most all beagles and pugs are good tempered pets. They are very low maintenance and do great with children. They are very sturdy, playful dogs and also very loving and loyal.
As with most hybrid dogs, they do not have any particular health concerns as do purebred pugs. Due to their elongated noses, they do not have the breathing problems that pugs often have.

WHAT DOES A PUGGLE LOOK LIKE?
They have a relatively short coat, velvety ears and a distinctive curly tail. They usually range from 8-14 lbs (TOY ) 15-30 ( STANDARD ) and 12-15 inches in height.

All of our puggle puppies are first generation (F1) crosses.
The (F1) hybrid is the healthiest of crosses possibly due to hybrid vigor.
It is our desire to raise this hybrid. We carefully select purebred, registered
parents, most of which we have raised from puppies. This will
result in puppies with very desirable pet qualities.

We do have different size female beagle breeders, therefore the size differences.
Also, please keep in mind puggles are a mixed breed ( hybrid) therefore,
weight and height as an adult can and will not be guaranteed but I can give
you an approximate estimate of their adult weight.

The idea of hybrid vigor is generally accepted among scientists, said John Pollack, a professor of animal sciences at Cornell University. "Crossbred animals are typically healthier," he said. A cross between a pug and a beagle should eliminate genetic problems that may exist in either breed because about 90 percent of genetic problems are recessive.
